They arrive in the capital, at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, the masterpieces of the Staedel Museum in Frankfurt, meeting a major exhibition entitled Staedel 100 masterpieces from the Museum of Frankfurt. Impressionism, Expressionism, Avant-Garde. At present the event the commissioner for culture of Roma Capitale Dino Gasperini, director of Palaexpo Mario De Simoni, the director of the Stadel Museum and curator Max Hollein Felix Kramer.
For the first time in Italy is presented a selection of works of the famous museum, one of the richest and most prestigious collections of European old and modern art, which began with the private collection donated to the community by merchant banker Johann Friedrich Staedel (1728 -1816). Since then the collection has been constantly enriched with new acquisitions, and today the Staedel Museum holds more than a hundred works of art documenting the entire course of European art from the Renaissance to the present day.
The exhibition is divided into seven sections, with works ranging from the Nazarenes and the Romantics, from Realism to Impressionism, Symbolism and the avant-garde. You can admire, among others, works by Tischbein, Koch, Corot, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Boecklin, Feuerbach, to Moreau, Redon, Hodler, Munch, Beckmann, Ernst, Klee, Picasso.
During the exhibition, the Art Workshop-Educational Services offer for adults, from April 29 (last Friday of every month), three events aperitif to 'read' with a different look in the works exhibition.
For children aged 7 to 11 years is proposed the initiative at first sight: a visit to the exhibition and workshop to learn about the great protagonists of the painting.
